Texas Pete® Fiery Sweet Forbidden Fruit Pork Chops

    Ingredients

    • 8 – 4 oz. Pork chops, bone in, thin sliced
    • 1 C Texas Pete® Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce
    • 5 Tbsp Butter, melted
    • 1/2 C Granulated sugar
    • 5 Granny Smith apples, cut into 16ths
    • 1 Tbsp Thyme, dried
    • 2/3 C Texas Pete® Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Directions

YIELD: 8 pork chops with apples
PORTION (Serving Size): 1 pork chop with apples

    1. Marinate the pork chops with the 1 cup of Texas Pete® Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce for 12-24 hours.
    2. Preheat the grill on high heat.
    3. Place a large sauté pan on high heat and add the butter and the granulated sugar.  Once the butter and sugar are melted and the mixture begins to caramelize add the diced Granny Smith apples and the dried thyme and cook on high heat.  Give the apples a mix every minute or two but allow them to caramelize in the pan and become golden brown.  This may take 7-10 minutes.  Once the apples are just fork tender add the 2/3 cup of Texas Pete Fiery Sweet Wing Sauce and glaze the apples with this sauce.  Cook on high heat for only 2-3 more minutes and remove the glazed apples from the pan and place them on a sheet tray and place them in the refrigerator to cool.
    4. When ready to serve, remove the pork chops from the marinade.  Season them with salt and pepper and place them on the grill to cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they have reached your desired temperature with a minimum of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.  When the pork chops are cooked, allow to rest for at least 3 minutes.
    5. While the pork chops are cooking reheat the glazed apples in a sauté pan.
    6. Arrange the grilled pork chops on a serving platter and top them with the glazed apples and serve.
