Texas Pete® Spicy Cheerwine Mad Apple Pork Chops

    Ingredients

    • 6 – 8 oz. Pork Chops, bone in
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 stick Salted Butter, for cooking
    • 1 – 12 oz. can Cheerwine, reduced by 1/2
    • 1/2 C Apple Butter
    • 1/2 C Texas Pete Original Hot Sauce

    Directions

YIELD: 6 pork chops with 1 1/2 cups glaze
PORTION (Serving Size): 1 pork chop with glaze

    1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
    2. Pour the 12-ounce can of Cheerwine into a small saucepot and reduce by ½.  Once reduced add the apple butter and bring to a simmer.  Cook for 1 minute and remove from heat and add the Texas Pete Hot Sauce.
    3. Season the pork chops on both side with salt and pepper.
    4. Place a large cast iron skillet on the stovetop on high heat.  Add a couple tablespoons of butter to the pan.  When the butter is melted, carefully place 1 or 2 pork chops into the pan at a time, or as many as you can fit comfortably without overcrowding the pan.  Sear the pork chops on both sides until they are golden brown but still rare in the center. Place them all on a large sheet tray lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper.  Brush them with a generous amount of the Texas Pete and Cheerwine Mad Apple glaze and place them into the oven to cook glazing them every few minutes with more of the spicy apple glaze until the pork chops have reached an internal temperature to 145 degrees.  Remove pork chops from the oven and let rest for 3 minutes and serve.
