    Texas Pete® Roasted Dates Wrapped in Bacon with Nuttin’ Honey

    Ingredients

    • 60 Dates, pitted
    • 1 C Marcona almonds, whole. toasted
    • 20 slices Smoked slab bacon, thinly sliced (#12 setting on slicer)
    • 1 C Texas Pete Hotter Hot Sauce
    • 1 C Honey
    • 1 C Cheese Sauce (thin consistency)

    Directions

    YIELD: 60 dates
    PORTION (Serving Size): 1 roasted date

    1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.  Stuff each date with one Marcona almond.  Cut bacon into 2 inch pieces;  wrap each stuffed date with bacon.  Place dates in a single layer about an inch apart on a parchment lined sheet tray.

    2. In a small bowl, mix Texas Pete Hotter Hot Sauce and honey until well combined.  Brush bacon-wrapped dates generously with glaze;  bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until bacon is cooked and glaze is caramelized.

    3. Serve warm, drizzled with cheese sauce, if desired.
